Sail The Phoenix is a luxury catamaran charter company in St. Maarten (Sint Maarten/Saint Martin), launched in 2021 and devoted to premium, small-group experiences. Our signature Luxury Day Sail showcases the best of St. Maarten’s coastline: snorkel the clear waters of Little Bay, watch incoming aircraft at Maho Beach from the comfort of the boat, and swim or paddleboard at beautiful Mullet Bay—paired with a freshly prepared lunch and an open bar. GUIDO
CAPTAIN & OWNER
Born in Germany, Guido started his sailing experience by windsurfing in his early twenties on several spots around the world. He has been sailing for decades in San Francisco, the Mediterranean, and Caribbean waters. In 2014 he crossed the Atlantic on his catamaran. Guido will ensure your safety on board but also make sure you have a fun and special experience while sailing with him and his crew. He holds several marine certificates including the required local commercial Captain’s license.
Rasheed
CAPTAIN
Born and raised in St. Maarten, Rasheed brings home-harbor instincts and a calm, safety-first hand at the helm. Now in his second season with The Phoenix, he knows the island’s bays and breezes like old friends. Off the water, you’ll find him deep into a new video game—or hunting down something delicious (he loves, loves, loves food).
Favorite stop: Little Bay for snorkeling—beautiful water and a front-row seat to starfish, turtles, and tropical fish.

chef & Hostess
Born in the Netherlands, Kirsten keeps our galley humming and the vibes high. She speaks Dutch, English, and a little German, and pairs professional training with a love for fresh, flavorful lunches. Now in her second season with The Phoenix, she’s just as famous for spontaneous dance breaks as she is for her salads and sauces—so if the music’s on, don’t be surprised to see her leading a mini dance party. Her top tip for guests? Put your phone away and join in!
Favorite stop: floating off Maho Beach to watch planes skim the horizon—truly a once-in-a-lifetime view.
